Application

Application couldn’t be easier! Simply apply in a circular motion using a small piece of cloth, rag, or kitchen towel. Apply the first coat generously to evenly coat the surface. A porous timber may absorb the first coat, so repeat if necessary (additional coats will usually have better results, so it’s always recommended to have at least 2).  Allow the oil to sit for 30 minutes before removing excess with a clean cloth, thoroughly wiping the oil until it feels dry to touch will reduce drying time. Wait 24 hours between coats.  

Tung oil can be thinned with different solvents to acquire different results. Adding solvents to the oil in a ratio up to 1:1 will add cleaning & dissolving properties to the oil, making it a great reviver for old furniture, removing dirt and moisturising the timber in 1 quick and easy application. It will also reduce the drying time and increase “biting strength”
